Alexis Boyce, 20 of Englishtown, New Jersey, turned herself over to Philadelphia Police at 600 Arch Street at 11:15 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, and Albert Woynar, 18 of Pittsburgh, was arrested by Pennsylvania State Troopers later that day, Philadelphia Police detailed in the release.
Both were wanted in connection with a 50-car meetup in the 7400 block of Bustleton Avenue on Saturday, Sept. 21, according to police. When police arrived to break up the illegal event at 4:33 a.m.
The incidents involved dangerous behaviors such as drifting, setting off fireworks, starting trash fires, and, in some cases, vandalizing police vehicles. It was around this time that a blue Dodge Charger, accelerated toward two officers, forcing them to jump out of the way or be struck, as Daily Voice previously reported.
Boyce's Dodge Challenger was recovered and is in the custody of the Marlboro Township Police Department, according to PPD.
"The Philadelphia Police Department is actively investigating a series of incidents that occurred over the weekend involving large groups of vehicles engaging in illegal street racing, drifting, and other reckless activities across the city," the police stated in the release.
Boyce was charged with felonies for: Causing/Risking a Catastrophe, Riot, Fleeing Police Officer, and Criminal Conspiracy; as well as misdemeanors for REAP, Criminal Mischief, and Disorderly Conduct.
Woynar was charged with felonies for: Causing/Risking a Catastrophe, Riot, Aggravated Assault, Fleeing Police Officer, and Criminal Conspiracy; as well as misdemeanors for REAP, Criminal Mischief, Simple Assault, and Disorderly Conduct.
